RECOLLECTION LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your RetroFin account and all associated data.
Your Right to Data Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your RetroFin account and all personal and financial data associated with it. This right is guaranteed under various data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What Data Is Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- Financial data: All connected account information, balances, and transaction history stored in RetroFin.
- Budgets and categories: All custom budgets, spending categories, and preferences.
- Net worth snapshots: All historical net worth snapshots and financial summaries.
- App preferences: All settings, preferences, and customizations.
Note: Deleting your RetroFin account does not close or affect your actual bank accounts, credit cards, investment accounts, or any other financial accounts at your institutions. It only removes the data stored within RetroFin.
How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: Through the App
- Open the RetroFin app on your device.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
Option 2: By Email
Send an email to tuogol.inc+retrofin@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your RetroFin account. We will process your request and confirm deletion within 30 days.
Option 3: Through the Support Page
Submit a request through our Contact Support page. Include "Account Deletion" in your message along with the email address associated with your account.
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days. You will receive an email confirmation once your data has been permanently deleted.
Third-Party Data
When you delete your RetroFin account, we also revoke the connection to Plaid, which disconnects your financial institution links. However, you may also wish to manage your Plaid connections independently through the Plaid Portal.
Data that has been processed by third-party services (such as analytics or error tracking) in an anonymized or aggregated form may not be individually deletable, as it can no longer be associated with your identity.
Data Retention After Deletion
After your account is deleted, we may retain certain information only as required by law (such as records necessary for tax, legal, or regulatory compliance). Any retained data will be securely stored and will not be used for any other purpose.
